I love when people hand down their old furniture too me. A family friend gave an old dresser that belonged to her husband when he was younger. The dresser was in good condition except that the top was nasty laminate. I was not a fan of the out of date trim on the bottom and hardware.
I am working on my power tool skills but I am not real comfortable with them yet. Luckily my husband jumped in and helped me cut out a new solid wood top and add new trim to the front. I painted it with Bleached Linen Behr paint and added new hardware. I kept this piece simply white because someone contacted me asking for a white dresser for a little girls nursery.
